About Greg:

“Living in the Mountains by a river is in itself a beautiful situation. Painting in the Mountains is a dream.”

Greg McGrath and his poet wife, Dina Coe, moved to Great Cacapon, WV for the beauty of the countryside and the peace of the forest.

West Virginia has inspired him to experiment with different techniques to capture a new awareness of how the forest, sky, river, and mountains work their magic.

A social worker for many years, Greg pursued art in the evenings, painting for six years with a well-known working artist, Michael Madigan. He has also taken classes in other medias, including watercolor, silk painting, and pottery, in West Virginia, Santa Fe, N.M., and also in New Jersey, where Greg lived most of his life.

“I have been interested in Art most of my life and hopefully always will be. When ever we travel we search out either an art gallery or museum, not only for the wonderful art, but to see what has been done and what is being done presently in Art.”

His artwork can be found throughout Berkeley Springs, at the Ice House Artists Co-0p, the Fairfax Coffee Shop, Sage Moon Herb Shop & Healing Center, and War Memorial Hospital.
